Fundació Joan Miró is one of Barcelona’s leading cultural institutions. A place where architecture, art and ideas come together — and where the experience is also shaped by how we look, what we discover and who accompanies us along the way.
The Magmacultura team provides visitor services and cultural mediation at the Foundation. We welcome and guide visitors, families and groups, recognising that everyone is different. We engage in conversation, facilitate discovery, give people time and adapt our approach so that everyone can find their own way to connect with the artworks, explore the space and make the visit their own.
On 9 October, the Foundation opens Charlotte Perriand. Free to Rethink the World, the first major exhibition in Spain dedicated to this French architect and designer. A pioneering figure who saw design as a way to imagine a more human future, Perriand shares a connection with the Foundation that goes beyond the exhibition. She and Josep Lluís Sert met in 1928 at Le Corbusier’s studio and maintained a lifelong friendship and intellectual affinity. Perriand attended the Foundation’s inauguration in 1975.
Alongside it, Joan Miró. Circles offers a fresh perspective on the permanent collection: more than a hundred artworks engage in dialogue with Sert’s architecture and the building itself, which is also an integral part of the experience.
With the 2026–27 academic year already underway, the Foundation’s educational programme offers interactive guided visits and workshops that encourage participants to observe, move, listen and engage in dialogue, opening up different ways to discover the artworks and the space.
