The La Base building in La Marina de València will host the first immersive exhibition on the great artist of the sea from 15 June, as part of the Sorolla Year.

This past Wednesday, March 29, the event was held to present to the media “Sorolla, a new dimension”, an exhibition conceptualized and produced by the Layers of Reality team together with La Marina de València. Once it opens on June 15, Magmacultura will be in charge of management and customer service.

The production will premiere this summer in a unique location, both for its location, next to the sea in Valencia, and for what it meant as a setting for inspiration and creation of the artist’s work.

To host the exhibition, the 2,000 square metre building will be equipped with technological equipment unique in Europe and with contents that will allow visitors to delve into Sorolla’s Valencia, his life and his work through multiple museographic techniques with a marked technological load and the participation of digital artists. La propuesta, innovadora y espectacular, quiere apelar a las emociones, ofreciendo una nueva narrativa construida en base al rigor científico y académico.

The exhibition is supported by Valencian institutions such as the Fundación del Diseño de la Comunidad Valenciana, the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Valencia City Council, as well as with the collaboration of the Museo de Bellas Artes de València, and is part of the Joaquim Sorolla Year programme to provide a new perspective on the artist.

The media presentation event held at the Velas e Vientos building in La Marina was attended by the Mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó; the Deputy General Manager of La Marina de València, Evarist Casillas; the CEO of Layers of Reality, Jordi Sellas; the Commissioner and President of Layers of Reality, Artur Duart, and imma Fondevila, Content Manager at Magmacultura.
