Participation in the round table “The challenges of the cultural sector after the COVID-19 crisis”

The executive president of MagmaCultura, Artur Duart, has participated today as a speaker in the round table entitled “The challenges of the cultural sector after the COVID-19 crisis”, within the framework of the Executive Education & Business Challenges Forum organized by the Universitat Catalonian International.
The table, moderated by Marta Crispí, director of the UIC Master’s Degree in Cultural Management, also included the participation of Àlex Galí, general coordinator of the Damm Foundation, Montserrat Antolí, director of sponsorships, patronage and marketing of the National Theater of Catalonia and Josep M. Carreté, manager of the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA).

During his speech, Duart highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated an inevitable transformation in the cultural sector. With the change in consumption patterns as a key factor, the president of MagmaCultura has indicated that some dynamics that were already underway, such as the internationalization of cultural projects, digitization and the creation of new technological formats, must gain greater leading role in the agenda of cultural companies and institutions.

Finally, Duart pointed out the importance of advancing in public-private collaboration channels so that economic recovery plans linked to European funds take the cultural sector into account.
